Your chance to be part of our response to the House of Lords Autism Act Committee

The House of Lords Autism Act Committee is reviewing the Autism Act and wants to find out if it is working for autistic people.

With the support of our Community Advisory Panel, we have created a survey to help us respond as clearly as possible to the committee, including the opinions of as many autistic people and their supporters as we can.

We sent the first draft of this survey to 200 of our panel members and are extremely grateful to everyone who provided feedback.

How can you get involved?

We’d like as many people as possible to complete our survey. This will allow us to respond to the House of Lords Committee with clear, strong recommendations.

There are not many opportunities for the public to say whether a law is or isn’t working, so this is an extremely important moment in time.

The survey is anonymous and will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. You can take part if any of the following apply to you:

  • You are autistic (with or without a formal diagnosis)
  • You are a parent, carer or supporter of one or more autistic people
  • You work with autistic people or in the field of autism

What happens next?

When the survey closes, at at 9am on Thursday 22nd May 2025, we will incorporate the results into a broader response to the House of Lords Committee. We will publish that response on our website as soon as the process allows.

If you’d like to keep up with any progress on this work, please sign up to receive our newsletter or join our Community Advisory Panel.

You can also respond to the committee’s call for evidence as an individual, via the official House of Lords Committee webpage, but we ask you to complete our survey via the red button above as well. That’s important because the more of your views we can include, the stronger our recommendations will become and the harder they will be to ignore.
