We’re a national charity creating a society where autistic people can thrive.
We take on the root causes of inequality: poor understanding, bad policy, and broken systems.
And we do it with autistic people and their supporters, empowering them to drive the change they want to see.
We’re here to make a difference.
We’re Autism Action.

We’re Autism Action.
That means equal life chances, genuine inclusion and respect.
It means systems that work for autistic people — not against them — improving health, wellbeing and quality of life.
Today’s society is failing autistic people.
They are routinely let down and excluded, facing discrimination and poor outcomes across all areas of life, from early years, through education, employment and in health and social care.
In some cases, the lack of appropriate support has fatal consequences.
Change is long overdue.
We tackle the root causes of the inequalities autistic people face.
That means changing how society understands autism and influencing the national policies that shape people’s lives.
Changing public understanding
Misinformation doesn’t just affect attitudes, it undermines national plans, policies and the services autistic people rely on.
We’re building a bold, long-term campaign to tackle misunderstandings and misinformation about autism.
Real change at this scale takes 5–10 years of consistent effort. That’s exactly what we’re working towards.
Influencing Government, policy and national guidance
We speak up and call on Government to do better. We work to change the national policies and broken systems that have failed autistic people for far too long.
Most large-scale change starts with Government and national decision-makers, so that’s where we focus most of our work.
When we can drive national change ourselves, we move fast, working in partnership to deliver practical solutions.

We work with all autistic people, with and without learning disabilities, and across the full range of support needs.
Our neurodiverse team brings lived experience, and our Community Network of over 1,000 autistic people and supporters helps shape everything we do.
