Network Criteria
The network is a free online platform for small, local organisations supporting autistic people into employment. The network’s aim is to collaborate, share expertise, access resources, and find support in fundraising, communications, and more — please note, individuals seeking employment or families seeking employment on behalf of individuals are not eligible.
To join the Autism Employment Network organisations must meet the following criteria:
1. Support autistic people (with or without learning disabilities) into employment. This includes providing:
- paid employment
- support such as vocational training or activities that have transferrable skills for the workplace
- work experience placements
- volunteering opportunities
This does not need to be the sole purpose of the organisation or the only group they support.
Please note we do not provide training or consultancy to organisations on workplace adjustments or inclusive practices. Organisations solely looking for this type of support are not eligible to join the network.
2. Be based in the UK and primarily benefit people in the UK.
Examples of the type of organisation the network is suitable for:
- Social enterprises
- Small business or Limited companies, with less than 50 employees and yearly profit under £10 million
- Voluntary or community organisations
- Charities or charitable incorporated organisations (CIO)
- Not-for-profits
- Community interest company (CIC)
- Schools, colleges and universities
- Statutory bodies (including local authorities or councils)
- Community benefit society (CBS)
- Sub-groups, led by an eligible organisation
